BMW 8-Series Gran Coupe 2023 Why Is the Best

The 2023 8-series Gran Coupe has undergone a mild redesign, featuring a modified front bumper, a redesigned grille with built-in lighting, new wheel designs, and fresh color options. The interior boasts a larger 12.3-inch infotainment screen.

The Alpina B8 variant also receives similar cosmetic updates. Additionally, a limited-edition 8 X Jeff Koons model is offered at a high price point of $350,995, featuring exclusive exterior paint and an interior designed by the renowned American artist.

It’s difficult not to be enticed by the 523 horsepower and powerful engine sound of the V-8-powered M850i, but that comes at a cost of an additional $21,000. In comparison, the all-wheel-drive, six-cylinder 840i offers more than enough power at a lower price point.

Our recommendation would be to opt for the 840i and add on the M Sport package for a more aggressive exterior look and interior upgrades such as an M-specific steering wheel.

Additionally, we suggest adding 20-inch wheels with performance run-flat tires for improved cornering and the Comfort Seating package for added front seat adjustments, heated and ventilated front seats, and power sunshades for the rear seats. The 2023 8 Series boasts a plethora of advanced technology.

A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display and 12.3-inch digital gauge screen come standard, as well as compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The center console still includes the familiar iDrive rotary controller.

The base audio system is a 464-watt, 16-speaker setup, with the option to upgrade to a premium 1,400-watt Bowers & Wilkens system.

The BMW 8 Series has not yet been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Despite this, it comes standard with lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking features.

Additionally, BMW offers an Active Driving Assistant system as an option, which includes blind-spot monitoring, a 360-degree camera system, and a parking assistant.

To access the most advanced driver assistance technology, buyers must opt for the Driving Assistance Professional package, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and front and rear cross-traffic alert features.
