What’s New in 2023 Acura ILX

The 2023 Acura ILX appears to be a luxurious sedan at an affordable cost, boasting premium exterior design and a reasonable starting price.

However, upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that the compact Acura sedan is simply a redesigned version of the previous-generation Honda Civic, lacking desirable standard features. Its infotainment system is outdated, and it does not possess the athletic driving performance typical of vehicles in this category.

Despite this, the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine is fuel efficient and the ride is comfortable and pleasant. The ILX is powered by a single four-cylinder engine that produces 201 horsepower and is paired with a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission.

The engine revs easily and while it may not be the fastest car in its class, it brings back memories of the VTEC-powered Honda and Acura sedans of the past.

The handling is steady and confident, but not particularly noteworthy. The cabin is affected by road and wind noise more than its competitors such as the Audi A3 or the Mercedes-Benz A-class, particularly at high speeds. However, the ILX excels in its brake-pedal feedback.

The Acura ILX offers ample space for the driver and front passenger, but those sitting in the back may find it cramped. The car comes with a variety of standard features, such as a sunroof, heated sport seats with power adjustments for the driver, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

However, the dashboard design appears outdated when compared to the sleek screens found in the A-class. Despite lacking useful interior storage like the Civic, the ILX boasts a spacious trunk that contradicts its subcompact sedan classification.
